Dr. Frederic Revah Ph.D. - CEO
Dr. Revah joined Sepal in April 2008 and brings to Sepal Pharma over 20 years of biotech, pharmaceutical and academic experience.Prior to this position, Dr. Revah served as CSO of the publicly traded Drug Discovery biotech company Cerep, and as CEO of the company's oncology subsidiary. He conducted the development of the company's drug candidate portfolio and the development of its US and French-based technology platform. Dr. Revah was Department head in the research division at Rhone Poulenc Rorer (now part of Sanofi-Aventis) and an Associate Scientist at Institut Pasteur (Paris). He is co-author of more than 35 peer-reviewed scientific publications and co-inventor of more than ten granted and filed US and European patents. Dr. Revah participates in multiple advisory boards for academic institutions and investment funds.
Dr. Revah has a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology from Institut Pasteur and an engineer degree from Ecole Polytechnique.
Corinne Szilagyi, PhD - VP Research and Development
Dr. Szilagyi joined the company in May 2006 and brings to Sepal Pharma more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical preclinical development and entrepreneurship.Prior to this position, Dr. Szilagyi worked as a project leader in Pfizer, where she managed scientific teams and led international programs from early discovery through to the nomination of candidates for drug development.
She was also part of the strategic alliances team and participated internally in process analysis and portfolio management of research programs.
Dr Szilagyi has strong experience in the field of preclinical to clinical development for oncology candidates.
Prior to her industrial positions, Dr Szilagyi was a lecturer in Enzymology at the University of Sherbrooke for 4 years.
Fabrice Balavoine, PhD - VP Chemistry
Dr. Balavoine joined the company in May 2008, he brings to Sepal Pharma over 15 years of experience in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry.
Prior to joining Sepal Pharma, Dr. Balavoine served as R&D manager at Quantum Genomics where he participated to the preclinical development of new chemical entities, peptides and recombinant proteins in different therapeutic areas. Previously, Dr. Balavoine served as Drug Discovery manager of Cerep and its oncology subsidiary Anceris. Dr. Balavoine is co-author of more than 25 peer reviewed publications and patents.
Dr. Balavoine is a graduate from the Ecole Sup'rieure de Chimie et de Physique Industrielles de la ville de Paris (ESPCI).
He holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Universite' Paris-Sud, France and received post doctoral training at the Institute of Chemistry and Cell Biology, Harvard Medical School, USA.
