Dr. Max Herzberg - Chairman
Dr. Herzberg is an international opinion leader in the biotech arena with over 30 years of academic and industry related experience.Dr. Herzberg is currently Chairman of EMBL-EM, the Technology Transfer Organization of the EMBL Labs in Heidelberg. He is also the Co-founder of Biotech Development Consulting (BDC) a boutique consulting firm at the cutting edge of the Techno-Business side of the industry.
Dr. Herzberg has created and managed a number of successful companies such as Orgenics Ltd, the Israeli leading diagnostic company now belonging to the Inverness Medical group, and Vascular Biogenics (VBL), Vecta, and Fertiseeds. He founded and was the first Chairman of the Israel National Biotech Committee and has served on a number of advisory committees in Israel's Office of the Chief Scientist.
Dr. Herzberg has published 3 books and approximately 100 scientific publications and was member of the first team to create recombinant viruses at Stanford University.
Christian Policard
Mr. Policard is a co-founder of the international consulting organization BDC (Biotech D�veloppement Conseils), which specializes in strategy and business development support to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies as well as capital funds interested in investing in biotech.Mr. Policard is a former Executive VP of Sanofi responsible for diagnostic, agro-veterinary and capital development and former Executive VP of Institut Pasteur in charge of technology transfer. Presently, He holds seats on several boards of biotech companies in France, United-Kingdom and Israel.
David Owen, PhD
Dr. Owen has a over 20 years experience in research and development for SK&F. He is the sole named inventor on a patent for a marketed drug to treat Parkinson's disease. He also directed technology transfer activities for the UK Medical Research Council.Dr. Owen currently holds Director positions in technology transfer organizations including EMBLEM, Germany, UK MOD laboratories and NHS Innovations, London. In addition, he holds Director positions in a number of private biosciences companies and advises a number of investment funds and public sector initiatives in technology transfer. In June, 2001, he was appointed OBE for "services to medical research and technology transfer".
Gilead Raday
Mr. Raday is the Managing Director of Life Sciences of Charles Street Securities, Inc (CSS), a London based investment firm, where he manages the Bio-Pharma financing deal flow and sits on the board of several of the life-science companies in the portfolio.
Mr. Raday has a M.Phil in Bioscience Enterprise (MBE) from Cambridge University, UK and an MSc in Neurobiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
Prior to this position, Dr. Revah served as CSO of the publicly traded Drug Discovery biotech company Cerep, and as CEO of the company's oncology subsidiary. He conducted the development of the company's drug candidate portfolio and the development of its US and French-based technology platform. Dr. Revah was Department head in the research division at Rhone Poulenc Rorer (now part of Sanofi-Aventis) and an Associate Scientist at Institut Pasteur (Paris). He is co-author of more than 35 peer-reviewed scientific publications and co-inventor of more than ten granted and filed US and European patents. Dr. Revah participates in multiple advisory boards for academic institutions and investment funds.
Dr. Revah has a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology from Institut Pasteur and an engineer degree from Ecole Polytechnique.
